So you sailed away
Into a grey sky morning
Now I'm here to stay
Love can be so boring
Nothing's quite the same now
I just say your name now
But it's not so bad
You're only the best I ever had
You don't want me back
You're only the best I ever had
So you stole my world
Now I'm just a phony
Remembering the girl
Now I'm lost and lonely
Send it in a letter
Make yourself feel better
But it's not so bad
You're only the best I ever had
You don't need me back
You're just the best I ever had
And it may take some time to patch me back inside
But I can't take it so I runaway and hide
And I may find in time that you were always right
You were always right
So you sailed away
Into a grey sky morning
Now I'm here to stay
Love can be so boring
Into a grey sky morning
Now I'm here to stay
Love can be so boring
Nothing's quite the same now
I just say your name now
But it's not so bad
You're only the best I ever had
You don't want me back
You're only the best I ever had
So you stole my world
Now I'm just a phony
Remembering the girl
Now I'm lost and lonely
Send it in a letter
Make yourself feel better
But it's not so bad
You're only the best I ever had
You don't need me back
You're just the best I ever had
And it may take some time to patch me back inside
But I can't take it so I runaway and hide
And I may find in time that you were always right
You were always right
So you sailed away
Into a grey sky morning
Now I'm here to stay
Love can be so boring
Heard this song earlier in the car and I realised I almost forgot how much I loved this song.
Reminded me of the days a long time ago and it makes me really happy in the strangest most beautiful melancholy way.
It's funny how some songs mean the world to you because of something that occurred and years later even when the feeling has died, the song still remains.
And when it revisits, it's almost like an old friend that has come knocking on the door of your heart; that old friend that shared your thoughts and your precious memory.
Heh, and it's a grrrreat song to singalong too!
